IRREGULAR PERIODS Hello Doctor, I am 42, have an IUD (copper), had breast CA 9 years ago. This is the first time I have had irregular periods. It lasted just over three weeks. Never heavy, just there everyday. Should I seek medical care or am I just getting older and that happens. PamG, Idaho REPLY Pam, You need to see your gynecologist. Although at this age, menstruation does become irregular , it is also the age when many diseases can start. And it is wise to get a checkup to confirm that this is indeed just due to you being in the perimenopausal age and nothing else. I hope this helps.
