PN,
You are right in suspecting that the brown color of your semen is due to the presence of blood. The condition is called hematospermia.
Blood in semen is usually an indication of an infection or blockage or injury anywhere in the male reproductive tract. But the commonest cause is infection - either of the prostate gland or of the tubes which store sperm - these are called seminal vesicles. Other causes are benign prostate hypertrophy, prostate cancer, urinary tract infection, an injury etc.
In many cases , the blood will disappear spontaneously after a few days. At your age though, a problem with the prostate is likely.
You need to consult a doctor for an examination and tests like urinanalysis, semen analysis, semen culture and an ultrasound.
Till then, assuming that you have an infection, please take an anti-inflammatory like Motrin or Aleve, available OTC, 200mg thrice daily after food and drink enough water to help flush out any urinary tract infection.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to ask a follow-up question if you wish to know more.
